Today we said goodbye to Whippy. She went to rainbow bridge before we woke up this morning. She had been suffering with a bad heart & chest all her life. She was so small, her little body could no longer cope. RIP little Whippy.
When we first got Whippy, we got her with her 6 sisters. Snap (whippy), Crackle, & Pop, Mo Berry, Sunny and Dusty. Snap didnt seem like the right name for Whippy, so we called her Whippy instead. She was a fast little whipper snapper.
Here is a picture of all the girls when we first got them. We could never tell who was who on the pictures, as they all look so similar.
Whippy was our smallest ever rat. I dont think she ever grew much at all. She was around 200g at her heaviest.
Whenever it was time to come out Whippy would come out eventually and mostly hide wherever she could. She was always a shy girl.
Hanging out in a rat pile was her favourite place
I will always remember how she ate her medicine, perching herself on your hand as you held the spoon. We always used to enjoy giving her her meds, as that was the daily interaction we had with her.
This picture reminds me of how she used to stand and eat her meds.
Crackle is missing her midicine side kick - her little Sis :(
We only got to spend one Christmas with Whippy. Whippy getting stuck into opening presents.
All the girls love their vegatables, even Whippy.

Doesnt this shelf need cleaning daddy?
Whippy never really had a favourite type of food, we never really saw her eat that much. She loved soft food most of all. She loved the egg mixture we use.

Have fun at Rainbow Bridge Whippy. Berry, Fuzz and all our other ratties will be waiting to meet you. You wont have any troubles with your heart anymore. There will be lots of yoggies for you to eat. We all love and miss you Whippy.
