Two days before her 2nd Birthday, Arrow died in our arms. Two days before she died we heard a little squeeking noise inside the hammock, as though one of the othe rats, with bad myco were struggling to breath. We had a look in the hammock to see who it was, strangley it was Arrow. She never really had myco or any breathing problems, only the odd day or so when she got a little chesty. It soundrd as though she had something stuck in her throat. We thought it would make its way through and she would be ok, so we kept an eye on her throughout the day. She was ok, just squeeking. All the stress must of tired her out, she looked wiped out. The next day she didnt look any better so we kept her with us, she died in our arms around an hour later. I'm so sorry we couldnt make you better Arrow.
We called her Arrow because she had the perfect arrow down her back, with her hood. This is Arrow when we first got her standing proud.
Arrow always wanted to be out of the cage doing her own thing. Whenever one of us was in the room, Arrow would be waiting by the door wanting to come out. I think i will miss that most of all not seeing you there everyday.
When we first had these girls we bought a wheel. Arrow was always on it. This is how she kept so fit. Whenever we heard someone on the wheel, it was Arrow, she loved it. :)
Her 1st Birthday having a drink
Arrow wasnt really interested in her Christmas dinner, she wanted to come out and explore with her sister Haze
When Arrow was around 18 months old we noticed a lump growing, it was really loose around the lump so we had it removed and she was fine, until the next day and the wound had opened up. We took her back to the vets and they put her on antibiotics, to stop any infection getting into the wound and they said it would heal on its own. A tiny lump grew back right next to where it was, but that wasn't a problem.
Arrow after her wound had fully healed
Arrow was always busy doing something. Arrow with other girls under desk
Arrow always loved getting stuck into things. She loved sorting out the pumpkin
Arrow always enjoyed keeping everyone warm, so she always made a nice warm and cosy bed, whenever she could.
